    Congratulations to Ashley Muniz, Scholarship Recipient!

    Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is pleased to congratulate Ashley Muniz on her completion of the Practical Nursing Program at BOCES. Ashley is a participant in the Bridgewater Scholarship program. This program is available to any employee who has worked at Bridgewater for at least 6 months. Bridgewater will send any employee to either the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at BOCES or the Associate Degree in Nursing Program at Broom Community College.     Diane Tobias, Dialysis Patient for over 15 years: Reception to Celebrate

    The New York State IPRO End-Stage Renal Disease Network held their annual meeting recently and announced their quality awards. Bridgewater Dialysis Center was recognized as having one of the highest data submission rates to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Diane Tobias, who is also a resident on Bridgewater’s Ventilator Unit, was recognized for having lived on dialysis for over 15 years and for serving as a peer supporter.     Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing has been recognized as a 2016 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care.     Bridgewater: The Top Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Walk

    WE DID IT! On Saturday, April 23rd, Bridgewater staff, family, and friends participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Binghamton’s Otsiningo Park. We were preparing and fundraising for the Walk all year long with various basket raffles, special meals, 50/50 lotteries, and t-shirt sales. All of our hard work finally paid off on Saturday as we earned recognition as the TOP fundraiser for the Walk. Not only did we more than double our goal of $3,000, but we also doubled our donation from the last Alzheimer’s Walk! This year we raised over $7,800!     Bridgewater LPN, Catherina Belleau, wins NYSHFA LPN of the Year!

    Congratulations to Catherina Belleau! She has been selected as the New York State Heath Facilities Association’s Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year! The Employee Recognition Awards Program honors individuals for their outstanding contributions to NYSHFA member skilled nursing facilities. Catherina has been contributing to the care and service of Bridgewater’s residents for over 15 years!     Binghamton Alzheimer’s Walk

    On Saturday April 23rd, Bridgewater’s staff will be out in force to participate in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. These walks take place in over 600 communities in all 50 states and are meant not only to raise money for Alzheimer’s research, care, and support of those affected by the disease, but also to raise awareness of the far reaching effects the disease has throughout families and communities.     April Activities

    April may bring showers, but we don’t let that get us down. We have an assortment of fun activities to chase away any rainy day doldrums. April Fools Fashion Show The beloved tradition returns this year! Our residents will participate in a fashion show meant to show off their silly sides. Everyone will get a trash bag and it is up to them to decorate it as they see fit. They will then be modeling their looks down the runway, showing off their inner April Fool.     Happy New Year!

    Its the start of a new year. Time to evaluate yourself and figure out what you are going to try to change this year. Not always the easiest thing to do. We think we are doing a pretty good job of things here at Bridgewater and we are spending the first month of the new year having a great time.
